Puppies.
It is my aim to guide all puppy guardians towards having an educated and happy puppy, by using positive re-enforcement and rewarding the puppy for the responding in the right way. I do not believe in compelling a puppy to do something. It will react far more readily and with a huge amount of eagerness, if it knows that there is going to be a positive result for it, such as food/treat, voice or contact praise, ideally all three.

Puppy socialisation and training courses.
Training is based on reward and praise methods. This lays the foundation for a lifelong, mutually gratifying, trusting and loving relationship. During the puppy course, attendees will learn how to teach their dogs fundamental skills, including verbal and visual signs for “sit” and “down”; a proper technique for lead-walking and recall, the most important command of all. We’ll also cover health issues; methods to reduce biting, stranger anxiety and mental stimulation games and much more. Family and those involved with your puppy are more than welcome to attend and join in with the training. Costs do vary depending on the local and time of the course.
Puppy training courses last for 4 consecutive weeks and are currently available at,
St. Dionis Church Hall, St Dionis Road, Parsons Green, SW6 4UH
Monday 7.35-8.50pm

The cost of the course including comprehensive weekly training information, individual help and advice in person or via email and telephone me prior to and during the 4 week course is, £95.
Please contact me, 07753-609999 or richard@k9help.net for further information.

Home visit and course combined.
In addition to the socialisation and obedience course, K9 Help do provide a home visit service, either as part of a puppy course, or on an individual basis. The initial home visit lasts for about an hour and allows for the resolution of challenges that sometimes occur with a new puppy such as:
• Puppy nipping.
• Chewing.
• House-training.
• Feeding.
• Helping your puppy to settle in to its new home.
• Children at home with a new puppy. (If applicable).

The cost of the home visit and the course including comprehensive weekly training information, individual help and advice in person or via email and telephone me prior to and during the 4 week course is, £180

Home visit only.
I advocate that everyone with a new puppy undertakes a structured obedience and socialisation programme. However, I am aware that sometimes time constraints do not always allow for this, so, alternatively, if you are unable to attend a course, please contact me 07753-609999 or richard@k9help.net to arrange an appointment.

The cost of the home visit which lasts about 1 and 1/4 hours without a course is, £120.

Help finding a puppy and/or a reputable “breed for temperament”, breeder.
Finding a puppy to suit your lifestyle.
In addition to training and puppy help and advice, we will also work with you to find the right puppy for you, to suit you, a family and lifestyle.
When asked to find a puppy by a client, either myself or a member of the K9 Help team, will start by speaking with you in depth, narrowing down potential breeds to the ones best suited to your lifestyle, children’s ages etc. Then we will spend hours, potentially, phoning breeders all over the UK, asking relevant and revealing questions about their puppies, making inquiries regarding the necessary health checks, the number of litters, recommendations and referrals, etc. Many breeders are happy to answer all of our questions and for the puppies to be seen; any that show hesitation or lack of openness are rejected immediately. My criteria are: would I have a puppy from this breeder for myself, in my home, with our children? Only when a definitive yes is established is a visit arranged to meet the breeder in person. If happy with what is seen and heard, then a visit is made with you (and any partner or family memebers) to meet your puppy. A temperament test can be conducted on the puppy to help match the character of the puppy to the person or family it will be living with. You will be kept up to date throughout this process.

The cost of this service ranges from, £500 to £1000, depending on the hours and travelling involved.
